Doyle Faye [Dewitt] Reaves (Class of 1955)
DeWitt-Corpus Christi, Tx
Age 83
March 1, 2020

Doyle Faye DeWitt-Corpus Christi, Tx Doyle Faye DeWitt, 83, went to be with our Lord and Savior, peacefully on March 1, 2020 with her family by her side.

Mrs. DeWitt was born in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Earl H. Reaves and Mabel Deaton Reaves on August 2, 1936. Doyle, known as Doyle Faye to her friends, grew up in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. She later attended Murray State College for 2 years with an Associates degree in English. She also played the piano beautifully and because of her gifted singing voice, was offered an opportunity to sing on a local radio program. After a short stint on the radio, she chose to share these talents at church serving the Lord, and blessing others.

She later moved to Oklahoma City to work as a bank bookkeeper and where she met her husband, Kenneth Bruce DeWitt. They married December 8th, 1961, and just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. They had three children between them; Pam Perez, Cindy Garmon, and Kenneth Wayne DeWitt , who only lived a few hours after his birth. Doyle Faye and Bruce, along with their girls, moved from Oklahoma to Hurst, Texas in 1969, where they raised their family living a full life, filled with unconditional love and wonderful family memories. Doyle Faye worked for over 35 years at Shady Oaks Baptist, the only church she would ever attend in North Texas. She had the answers to almost every question ever asked and in addition to the many hats she wore at the front desk, she served continuously as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, hand bell choir, soloist, and several committees. Shady Oaks was central to her life story and where she left fingerprints of love and service on the lives of too many to count. She tirelessly served her entire family and was the spiritual glue that made their house a nurturing home. Her homemade meals and Sunday dinner from scratch are still legend. Mrs. DeWitt moved with her husband to Corpus Christi 10 years ago to live with their daughter Pam Perez who spent countless hours helping care for Mrs. DeWitt as her health care needs increased.

Mrs. DeWitt is preceded in death by her parents; Earl and Mabel Reaves; brothers; Bill Reaves and Richard Reaves; and sisters; Inez Reed, Jaunita Trapp, and Jeanette Catlett, and son in law, Clement Mafima. She is survived by her husband, Bruce DeWitt; her daughters; Pam(Peter)Perez and Cindy(Anthony)Garmon; brothers Bob Reaves, Charles Reaves, Wendell Reaves, and Roy Reaves; sister; Debbie Tiller; her 7 grandchildren she adored, Brittany(Danial)Fuller, Ashley(Adam)Boreland, Natalie Mafima, Christopher(Ashley)Perez, Andrew Perez, Tiffany(Dwight)Coleman, Melody(Dominique)Huey; her 8 precious great grandchildren; Brendan, Dylan and Prestan Fuller; Tristan, Kennedy, Ella and Chloe Coleman, and Harlow Reign Huey.
