Phillip Grady Ballard, 77 of Moore, OK, passed away on April 13, 2017. Phillip was born on Mar. 28, 1940 in Durant, OK to Pearl Grady Ballard and Barbara Carrell Ballard. Phillip served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1957-1962. He retired from the Oklahoma City Police Department as a Captain after serving for 24 years. He was a founding member of the FOP. After retiring he worked at the OKC fairgrounds as Director of Operations for security.

He is survived by his wife, Michele Ballard; sons: Scott Ballard and wife Cheryl, and Jack Ballard; daughters: Johna Cornelius and husband Randy, and Brandy Fowler; 10 grandchildren, Rachel, Alex, and Brady Ballard, Stacy Sanford, Kacy Benson, Alayna & Chase Cornelius, Kaylie Dobos and Zachary and Joshua Fowler; and his sister, Peggy Maylen.

He is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mary (Eaves)Ballard, parents, and brother, Jack Niblett. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to The Oklahoma City Police Athletic League, 3816 S. Robinson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73109.

Funeral Services are 10:00AM, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Moore, 301 NE 27th St. Moore, OK. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Garden, OKC. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
