Jeannie was born on December 25, 1947 in Oklahoma City to Eugene and Kathleen Bell. She attended Tishomingo Schools and was a 1966 graduate of Tishomingo High School. In high school, she marched in the band, played on the basketball team, served on the yearbook staff and was elected a junior class officer. She earned a bachelor’s degree from East Central State University in psychology and sociology, a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Oklahoma and a master of business administration degree from Central State University. She taught at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and then worked for several years at the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in Oklahoma City. While working at the Department of Corrections, she met Earl Brewer, whom she married in 1980, as well as many colleagues who became lifelong friends. In 1983 she and Earl moved back to her hometown of Tishomingo. Jeannie spent the remainder of her career working in health care management. She had a strong belief in providing health care to all people and worked diligently to ensure that goal. She also loved Tishomingo and Johnston County and worked on many community projects. Her personal interests were nature, birding, gardening and animal rescue. She believed strongly in the conversation of natural resources and the preservation of the earth. She advocated the humane and ethical treatment of all animals. She also loved to cook and over the years was accomplished ion the arts of stained glass and needlepoint.

She was happiest at home surrounded by her many dogs, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, step-mother, aunt, and friend. Earth will be a lesser place without her.
