Funeral Services for Mrs. Annabel Burris Easterwood, 83, of Ardmore, Oklahoma (formerly of Tishomingo) will be held on Thursday, August 14th, 2014 at 10:00 a. m. in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel at Clark Funeral Service in Tishomingo, Oklahoma with Brother Tom Frank officiating. Interment will follow in the Colbert Family Cemetery at Ft. Washita. Mrs. Easterwood passed away on August 9th, 2014 at the Hillcrest Care Center in Tishomingo.

Annabel was born on April 10th, 1931 in Tishomingo to Hindman Harrison "Hooky" Burris and Minnabel (Colbert) Burris. She graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1949 where she was active in basketball, glee club and pep club. She later attended Murray State College. Annabel married Lowell C. Easterwood on December 31st, 1949 in Gainesville, Texas. She moved with him to many states during his career with a seismic company, they include, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma and Texas. They finally settled in Houston where she worked for several churches in the area as a secretary and in the Children's Ministries. Later, they started a delivery business. Annabel operated the office from their home. They moved to Ardmore in 2010. Mrs. Easterwood was a member of the Russett Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Fowler, and three brothers, Harrison, Colbert and William Calvin Burris.

Mrs. Easterwood is survived by her husband Lowell, of the home, her daughter, Marcia Barren and husband Richard of Montgomery, Texas, her son, Lowell Easterwood, Jr. of Stafford, Texas, five grandchildren, Wesley Hayden Barren of Katy, Texas, Anna Rose Barren of Arlington,Texas, Kristin Goetz and husband Adam of Canada, Brandon Easterwood and wife Jenna of Montana, and Courtney Pharis and husband Matthew of Montgomery, Texas, ten great-grandchildren, Ryan Hayden Barren, Taylor Rose Barren, Alanna Goetz, Evelyn Goetz, Christopher Easterwood, Abigale Easterwood, Jonathan Easterwood, Sarah Easterwood, Michael Easterwood and Dylan Pharis, three sisters, Rose Mary Clark and husband Julian of Spring, Texas, Carolyn "Shug" Curry and Pat McCollom, both of Tishomingo, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Obituary Texts goes here
