Guy Edwin Combes (Class of 1954)
Tishomingo, OK
Age 77

Guy was born southwest of Bromide, OK on January 11, 1936 to Andy & Audra Combes, Guy was the yougest of six children. The family moved to to the "Home Place" north of Tishomingo in 1941. He graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1954 where he was active in athletics and 4-H. After high school he attended Murray State College. He married Wanda Lee Hinkle on November 09, 1958 and established a home west of Tishomingo.

In 1958 Guy established Guy Combes Trucking west of Tishomingo at his home with continuous operation until the present time, currently operating as CAP Transportation, Inc. Guy served as Johnston County District #3 Commissioner for over 25 years andwas instrumental in the building of the current Johnston County Courthouse.

Guy was an active member of the Tishomingo Church of the Nazarene where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He served on the church board as a church trustee and church buliding committee. Guy was also an original member of the Camp Bond Board. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, One son Clay & Anna Beth Combes, and two daughters, Caren & Carl Atteberry and Cleta & Jerold Phillips, all of Tishomingo.

He is also survived by one brother, Haskell Combes, of Madill, & one sister, Irene Cooper, of Tishomingo. He was the proud Papaw to eight wonderful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, & one great-grandson.

Funeral Services will be Friday October 25, 2013 at 2pm at the Tishomingo Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Richard Sowder officiating assisted by Rev. Roger Hartwell with interment to follow at Tishomingo Cemetery. Services under the direction of Tishomingo Funeral Home 705 North Kemp Ave.
