Haskell Warren Combes, 83 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the hospital in Madill. He was born on May 15, 1931 in Bromide, Oklahoma to the late L. A. Combes and Audra Redman Combes. Haskell graduated from the Tishomingo High School and later received a Bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma University in 1957 and later in 1962 received a Master’s Degree. Haskell taught and coached football at Tishomingo, Anadarko, Maysville and Elmore City and later worked for Vocational Rehab as a counselor in Ardmore and String Town. He married Sue Harden on June 9, 1956 in Tishomingo. Haskell was a member and served as a deacon at Oakview Baptist church since 1973 and he enjoyed sports, especially if Oklahoma State was playing. Haskell loved horses, taking care of his cattle and his grandkids.

He is survived by:

Wife: Sue Combes, Madill, Oklahoma

Sons: Mark Combes and wife Kristi, Madill, Oklahoma Barry Combes, Madill, Oklahoma

2 Grandchildren Joel Halverson and Sarah Combes

Sister: Irene Cooper, Grapevine, Texas

Haskell was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Clyde, Winston and Guy Combes and sister; Ora Mae Robinson. .

Casket Bearers: Clay Combes, Carl Atteberry, Chad Atteberry, Colin Atteberry, Doug Blackburn and Jerold Phillips.
