Funeral Services for Mrs. Ollie McDonald Cummings, 104, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 at the Westside Church of Christ with Stuart Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Ravia Cemetery. Mrs. Cummings passed away on Monday, October 25th, 2015 at the Artesian Nursing Home in Sulphur, Oklahoma.

Ollie was born on October 20th, 1911 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma to the late George A. McDonald and Viola (Wilson) McDonald and grew up in that area. She married Edgar Cummings on June 2nd, 1930 in Ada, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on November 29th, 1949. Mrs. Cummings graduated from East Central University in 1934, and obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1953. She taught school for 43 years in Johnston and Marshall Counties, retiring in 1974 after teaching 8 years in the Tishomingo school system. She also tutored many students. Mrs. Cummings was selected Johnston County “Teacher of the Year” in September, 1962: an event she cherished. She has been a member of the Church of Christ since November 20th, 1932.

Mrs. Cummings was also preceded in death by five brothers, William, John, Bert, R. V. and Loyd McDonald and three sisters, Ella Kinney, Emma Beesley and twin Allie McDonald.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and others, who loved her very much.
