Gussie Lucas was born July 26, 1939, in Tishomingo and passed away Nov. 28, 2013, at his home.

A graduate of Tishomingo High School, he served 10 years in the U.S. Navy and finished his working years at Tinker Air Force base before retiring. He and his wife Carole made their home in Norman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole; and by a son, Danny.

Survivors include a son, Tim Lucas and family; three daughters, Kathy and her family, Patty and her family, and Becky; a sister, Ruth Ann Riley of Ponca City; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
