Funeral Services for Mr. Daniel A. “Danny” Parker, 74, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church with Brother Luke Holmes officiating, assisted by Brother Mack McCarthick. Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery. Mr. Parker passed away on March 24, 2017 at the Mercy Hospital in Tishomingo. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Danny was born on December 22, 1942 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to John Austin Parker and Martha Mae (Weissinger) Parker. He attended Tishomingo Schools and married Betty Brown on October 23, 1960 in Madill, Oklahoma. Danny worked at various jobs in his life, first as a projectionist at the Thompson, then King movie theatre, for A & B Grocery, at Murray State College working on heat and air, and was a volunteer, then full time employee for the Tishomingo Fire Department, from which he retired as Fire Chief, after 22 years of service. He then was in business for himself as Daniel Parker Heat and Air. Danny was also a member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, drag racing and watching basketball. He at one time had driven a dragster.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Betty on February 21, 2017; a son, Billy Joe Parker; three grandchildren, Daniel Edward Parker, Kristie Nicole Box and Kimberly Ann Box; two great-grandchildren, L/CPL Kenneth Michael Pickens and Michael Ray McCraw; a sister, Ruby Roundtree; an uncle, Harold Weissinger; and a niece and nephew.

Danny is survived by two sons, Curtis Parker and Karon and George Parker and Donna; two daughters, Nora Houldson and Bill and Susan Parker; his sister, Dona Boulton and husband Bob; his brother, Homer Parker; numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Casket Bearers for the service will be: members of the Tishomingo Fire Department. Honorary Bearers will be all the retired members of the Tishomingo Fire Department.
