Services for Tommy Wayne Quaid Sr., 74, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Asbury United Methodist Church, the Rev. Don Griffin officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Quaid died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1936, in Tishomingo to Simpson Walter and Maggie Newell Poindexter Quaid.

He graduated from Tishomingo High School and attended Murray State College and East Central University. He played basketball at both Murray State College and East Central University, and received two bachelor degrees from East Central University. He retired from Holcim, formerly Ideal Cement, in 2001 after 40 years employment. He served in the National Guard, receiving marksman awards. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, was a Sunday School teacher and member of the choir.

He married Judy Harrison Counts on Aug. 15, 1964, in Wilmington, N.C.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Quaid, of the home; two sons, Tommy Quaid Jr. and wife Amy, Carolton, Texas; and James Quaid and wife Tamara, Ada; two grandchildren, Daniel Quaid and Hannah Quaid; a brother, James Calvin Quaid and wife Helena, Hoyleton, Ill.; and a sister, Eula Mae Hill and husband Ray, Elma, Washington.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Opal, Viola, Bonnie, Juanita and Laura; and one brother, Earnest.

Bearers are Dobber Bingamon, Paul Pappas, Dennis Quaid, Marvin Foster, Leon Thurman and Chuck Counts. Honorary bearers are Sidney Wroten, Leon "Man" Foster, Glen Haney, Dr. Laurin Patton, David Mask, Dean Stephens and Lattie Jones.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Family Life Center Fund at Asbury United Methodist Church, 508 W. 6th, Ada, OK 74820.
