Jerry L Reynolds (Class of 1953)
Oklahoma City, OK
Age 77
February 26, 2013

Aug. 9, 1935 - Feb. 26, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Jerry entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 26, after suffering a heart attack. Born in Tishomingo, Oklahoma on August 9, 1935, he was the son of John and Gladys Reynolds, who were both highly regarded educators within their community.

Jerry earned a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in Tahlequah. A proud member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, he worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years, maneuvering his 18-wheeler across the country on a regular basis. After giving up long-haul routes, for several years Jerry worked for Jack Cooper Transport, and after retirement he enjoyed driving tour buses on a part-time basis for Rocky Mountain Charters of Oklahoma City. He attended Southern Hills Baptist Church.

Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, John and Gladys Reynolds; his sister, Sarelda Reynolds; and his late wife, Fran Reynolds. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Reynolds; three sons, Edward Reynolds, John Reynolds and wife Debbie, and Randall Reynolds and wife Tammie; one daughter, Dana Heltcel and husband Rodney; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jerry is also survived by his dear friends, The Rev. Alvin Garrison, Billy Ferguson, Jim Cook, and Jimmie Dark. Jerry and Sharon greatly enjoyed their life together over the past few years, especially tending to their backyard, and watching the Sooners and the Thunder in what Jerry liked to refer to as their "retirement suite" (actually, their den!).

Last but certainly not least, also left to mourn Jerry's passing is their beloved Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, and his constant companion, "Lola." Jerry was a kind and gentle man who was much loved, and will be greatly missed.

Rev. Garrison will preside over Jerry's memorial service, scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Vondel L. Smith & Son South Colonial Chapel, 6934 S. Western.
