Sidney Paul “Sid” Spencer of Heavener, Oklahoma was born January 30, 1956 in Levelland, Texas to Sherman and Nellie (Pigg) Spencer and passed away December 30, 2014 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the age of 58.

He is survived by:

His wife: Leah of the home

One daughter: Amanda Arnett and husband Bret of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Two sons: Caleab Spencer and wife Kimberly of Newmarket, New Hampshire Wade Spencer and wife Sydnee of Lawton, Oklahoma

Two sisters: Rhonda Kurvink and Kim Kurvink of McAlester, Oklahoma Nancy Spencer of Tishomingo, Oklahoma

Two grandchildren: Ava Arnett and Jaiden Graham

His mother-in-law: Ina Ruth Vaughn of Wister, Oklahoma

One niece: Sarah Fry and husband Dusty, and daughters Bailey and Hannah

One brother-in-law: Marty Vaughn, his son Jon, and grandson Dylan

One sister-in-law: Becca Vaughn, her sons Che and Erik, and grandsons Blaise and Amani

Numerous other relatives and a host of many friends

He was preceded in death by his parents. Sid was a long-time resident of Heavener and a Registered Nurse for nearly 20 years at the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital in Talihina, Oklahoma. He was an avid sportsman who loved to fish and hunt.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers the family request the memorials be made to one of the following organizations in Sid’s honor: C.A.S.T. www.castforkids.org, Robber’s Cave State Park children’s fishing programs, or Future Fisherman Organization of America.
