Funeral Services for Ms. Vernon Lois Tribble Woodard, 89, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Saturday, October 11th, 2014 at 1:00 pm, in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel at Clark Funeral Service with Rev. James C. Woodard officiating, assisted by Dr. Keith Manuel. Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be from 11:00 am until service time.

Vernon Lois Tribble Woodard was born on September 6th, 1925 in Tishomingo and entered the eternal joy of her Lord on October 7th, 2014 at the age of 89. She married J. C. "Slick" Woodard in December of 1942 and they made their home in Blackwell, Oklahoma, raising two children, Jim and Myrna Lois, until moving to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1965. In 1979, Slick and Lois returned to and made their home in Tishomingo. Though living away from Tishomingo, Vernon Lois never considered any place but Tishomingo to be the center of the universe and through the years made the Class reunion an annual visit. Vernon Lois gave her life to Jesus at an early age and lived the rest of her life sharing the Love of God. Her love for people and relationships she developed as a child remained strong and active until her passing. She was truly and inspiration to everyone she came in contact with and her effervescence and inspiration will be missed by those who knew her.

Vernon Lois was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Tribble, her mother, Vivian Grider Tribble Mathis, and husband, J. C. "Slick" Woodard.

She is survived by her son, James C. Woodard and wife Claudia, her daughter, Myrna Lois Hamilton and husband Mike, grandchildren, Wendy Sue Woodard Manuel and husband Keith, James C. Woodard, II and wife Michelle, Cara Hamilton Goree and husband Jeremy, and Krystal Brigman, seven great-grandchildren, her sister, Mary Lou Mathis Young, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
