W.C. "Dub" Warden (Class of 1941)

Dub was born on June 10, 1924 on Morrow Lane in Tishomingo to W. C. “Bill” Warden and Clara Bernice Morrow Warden. He graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1941 and later served in the United States Army, his last duty being in occupied Japan at the end of the war. After his discharge, he married Flora Dean Goodman on January 29, 1950 in Gainesville, Texas. Dub was a Dairyman for over 50 years, and from 1978 until his retirement in 2004, owned/operated Warden’s Dairy in the Bullard Chapel community near Tishomingo. He served on the Soil Conversation Board, the Johnston County Fair Board and was “Dairyman of the Year” in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack Warden and four infant granddaughters, Emily Ann, Clara Jane, Abigail and Kari Jo Warden.

Dub is survived by his wife Flora Dean Warden, of the home; his daughter, Patti Warden and her fiancé, Jon Reubin of Tishomingo; his son, Steven Paul “Stoney” Warden and his wife Denise of Tishomingo; three granddaughters, Stephanie Nicole Warden, Sarah Denise Warden and Stevie Lynn Warden; his sister, Dorris Coker Spor of Sugar Creek, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers for the service will be Mr. Warden’s nephews.
