John A. Herd, II, of Pauls Valley, passed away June 4, 2021 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

John was born October 6, 1940 in Hugo, Oklahoma to John A. and Sara V. (Sturgess) Herd. He and Kathleen S. Caldwell were married in Milburn, Oklahoma on May 26, 1960. He was a Game Biologist with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife until his retirement after 49 years of service. John was preceded in death by his parents.

His surviving family include his wife, Kathleen S. (Kathy) Herd, 2 children, Jon Herd and wife Kristi, of Paoli, Ok; and Linda Holmes and husband Jon, of Tishomingo, Ok; 2 sisters, Barbara Shuck and husband Dick, of Tulsa, Ok; and Vickie Trotter and husband John, of Edmond, Ok; and grandchildren, Sarah Bardwell and husband Chase, of Ravenna, Tx; Rylee and Grant Holmes, of Tishomingo; and Anna Herd, of Paoli, Ok.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley officiated by Dr. Joe Elam. Interment will be at 2:00 pm at the Tishomingo City Cemetery.
